I grew up in the back of a Caribbean hair salon — where the fan was loud, the chairs were always full, and someone’s mum was getting their hair laid with a marcel ♨︎.

Those salons weren’t just for styling — they were safe spaces for our mums, aunties and cousins. Especially for undocumented Caribbean women, it was where they found work, community, and a bit of peace.

That’s where I found my love for hair. I learned how to part properly before I could spell it, and yes — I do know how to use a marcel.

Now I run my own business with that same spirit: care, precision, and community at the centre. This isn’t just about looking good — it’s about showing up as your full self and feeling soft in a world that sometimes doesn’t always allow for that ‎♡‧₊.
